All sorts of talk, from all sorts of folks, about all things sports, covering the major leagues and associations.

Is it just me, or is the new Madden cover a) really ugly and b) poorly photoshopped?

Randall ST Sports Wire:
For all the madden lovers who follow the blog. Just a real nice cover here. Hopefully Megatron escapes the 2013 season without a major injury, or dwindling numbers.

I think its glorious when 4th line warriors not only contribute to big time wins in the playoffs, but get some love on the front page of a New York City newspaper.

The MLB First-Year Player Draft is less than two weeks old and scouts are scrambling to find their diamonds in the rough. Back in 1987, scouts didn’t need to search hard to find the No. 1 prospect, Ken Griffey Jr. “The Kid” was taken No. 1 straight out of high school by the Mariners and quickly became one of baseball’s most popular players. The 13-time All-Star ranks fifth all time with 630 home runs to go along with 10 straight Gold Gloves and the 1997 American League MVP. (VJ Lovero/SI, Richard Mackson/SI)

High Expectations

19-year old Nationals rookie centerfielder Bryce Harper hit his first career home tonight, a 429-foot blast to dead center. Listen to the call of MASN play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter.

There’s number one!

And several more hundred to follow! We hope!

Talk about high expectations.

Only nine years after exiting Montreal for the warmer climate of Orange County, Guerrero has returned to our friends to the north, signing a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

While some believe that Guerrero, at 37 and unable to play the field, is washed…

I do like when the wide receivers are un happy though … Its entertaining and so are they… Just like Wideout Santonio Holmes wearing a Jays hat in the interview…(Click the link, its the second video in the article…I like the support for the Jays, and thats the only reason I am posting this…)

oldtimefamilybaseball:

While you were helping push The Avengers over 200 million dollars by seeing it multiple times (don’t look at me like that), baseball things continued to happen. What you may have missed:

The Twins have nine hits in four games. That’s like, crazy bad. So Brian Dozier, a 25 year old…
